Why it is called Goshen
Exodus is the second book of the Bible, an account of a people leaving Egypt while ten plagues fall on it. Most people remember the plagues. Fewer remember Goshen, which is the detail the whole brand rests on. Goshen was the region the Israelites lived in, and the plagues did not reach it.
Only in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were, was there no hail.
Exodus 9:26, see also 8:22
Ground set apart from what was happening everywhere else. Not a shield, not a miracle performed on the people who lived there. Just a place the thing did not touch.
That is what the garment is named for, and the parallel is more literal than it sounds. The modern version of the plagues is in nearly every drawer in the country: polyester and nylon, spandex, undisclosed dyes, chemical softeners, microplastic fiber shedding into the water and the air with every wash. Goshen is the pair that is none of that. The name is the product spec, stated in older language.
The long form of the story, with the plagues named one at a time, is at the Goshen story.

GOTS certifies the fiber from field to finished garment. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tests the garment you actually receive, for substances well beyond what the words "organic cotton" promise on their own. Neither of those is a claim we wrote. They are third-party standards with public registries, which is the entire reason we use them.
Why we bothered
Most underwear is synthetic. It is knit from plastic fiber, finished with dyes and softeners the label never names, and then worn against the most sensitive skin on the body for sixteen hours a day, every day, for years. Nobody chose that. It is just what was on the shelf.
Goshen is the opposite by construction rather than by addition. There is no proprietary treatment, no infused mineral, no technology. We took things out: no synthetic fiber in the body of the garment, no undisclosed dye, no chemical softener, no tag to cut off. What is left is cotton that was grown without synthetic pesticides and colored with dyes that have been tested and named.
We do not claim the garment does anything to your body. It is underwear. What we claim is what it is made of, and every one of those claims traces back to a certificate or a laboratory report. Where the research on synthetics and men's health is correlational, we say "linked to" and point at the study instead of promising an outcome. If we cannot verify a claim, we do not make it.
What EXODUS is not
A number of unrelated organizations share the word, several of them older and better known than this one. If you were looking for one of them, you are in the wrong place, and here is the short list so you can get where you were going.
EXODUS is not affiliated with the Exodus cryptocurrency wallet, with Exodus Travels, with the Exodus House transitional housing and addiction recovery organizations, or with Exodus Cry. We have no relationship with any of them beyond a shared word, and we are not a successor, subsidiary, or partner of any of them. This EXODUS is a men's underwear brand, and houseofexodus.co is its only website.
